Training & Development
At Portland Hotels we recognise that our most important asset are our employees. To ensure you can give your very best training and development is essential.
Induction
On commencing employment with us, you will undergo a comprehensive induction period of 3 months. This will include a Company Induction, all statutory training and specialised skills training within your specific job role.
Service Excellence
It is vital that all employees feel passionate about service excellence and confident in handling customer situations, to this end all employees will attend Portland Hotels Service Excellence programme within 3 months of joining the Company.
Vocational Qualifications
We also offer you the opportunity to undertake a level II or level III vocational qualification within food & beverage service, housekeeping, kitchen or reception.
Portland Hotels Training Plan
Throughout your career with us you will be given the opportunity to attend a range of courses appropriate to your job role. Courses available include Wine & Spirit Education Trust Certificates, Food Hygiene Certificate, Telephone Skills, Craft and Group Training Skills.
Portland Management Development Programme
All Department Managers are given the opportunity to attend the 5 day Management Development Course which includes planning, organising, time management, interview and appraisal, motivation skills, employment legislation , working as a team and finance for non financial managers.
